Death of a Facebook Page

They say that all good things come to an end, and many a times we are not aware of the why’s or the wherefore’s of that event. Now the situation that was facing me was of the unkindest variety and so I took the worst-case scenario in mind and deleted the facebook page possessing the username XLVBA.GANG – despite the fact that it was almost on 2500 likes!

Many of you, I know, were following that page and had learnt a lot from it’s posts, but do you think the persons who committed the act of disabling an active admin’s account were bothered? Fact is, they did not even bother to find out whether their act of so doing was even based on true or false facts / claims.

My point being that at the end of the day, I have nothing to lose by not being on Facebook, the real losers are the people who liked the posts on that page, but even they were never asked! So I will simply shift all my future posts to my blog, but no one on Facebook will ever know, unless they have used their email addresses to subscribe to this blog. Cheers till my next post!

Many time I have been asked this question, and so I decided that that fact itself qualifies it to feature on my blog. Let us just get to the basics first. What VLOOKUP does in the rows of a worksheet, HLOOKUP does in the columns of a worksheet. So basically it all boils down to the fact where does excel need to look for the data that you want to retrive – In rows? Or in Columns? In the case of the former, you would retrieve the required data from some column adjacent to the key column and in case of the latter, you would retrieve the data from some row adjacent to the key row. Clear on the concept?

No, then let us understand the concept of VLOOKUP from the Microsoft Help Files, which contains the following Video:

After this, there should really be no questions in anyone’s mind.

Here is an interesting way that should change the way how you look at VLOOKUP, like permanently.
